I know this book is beloved, but I found it unreadable. Lines like “With all the risks they were taking, love was probably the most dangerous choice of all” are a feature, not a bug. I just really don’t get it.

I love history, and I love great writing…this book included both. Incredible story that makes me want to go research the forgotten heroes — loved every character in this book. Well done!
